Age Groups
Mite - Squirt - Pee Wee - Bantam
Do not be concerned about Age groups, the players will be focused on
their own stride and advancement this should not be a concern.
Last summer we had Midget aged players on the ice at the same time, as
they focus on their stride efficiency, and not worried who is on the
ice!
Please call if there are any concerns
Advanced Power Skating
Program
Information:
Mission: This program is
designed
for the Elite players who are dedicated to take their game to the next
level. In addition to the focus on power skating principles,
players
will understand the mechanics of using the entire body in unison, and
also
the dynamics of the equipment in power skating. Every racecar
driver
needs to understand how the engine works!
Program: The
emphasis
of the
Advanced
Power Skating Program includes:
1. Acceleration and Explosiveness:
the first 3 steps are what give
skilled skaters the edge in hockey.
2. Power and Stride Development:
maximize stride potential for
individual
players.
3. Agility and Quickness:
refinement of body positioning
and on-ice angles in small areas.
Format: The
program will make
full
use of the ice time and ice surface available. This is not a
conditioning
skate. Our emphasis is on teaching players to teach their
bodies
and minds the proper
techniques for Speed Development and Acceleration. Skaters will
be allowed proper recovery time between intervals in order to
participate
at 100% effort capacity, both physically and mentally.
Players will be separated into 4 groups of 5
players for instruction.
Ice Time: 5 Minute Warm-up and
Cool Down, and 15 minutes for each section outlined above.
Individual Training: players will be encouraged to support one another,
however the challenge is strictly on an individual basis. We are not
competing against one another.
Number of Players: The program
is
limited to 30 skaters, with a minimum number of 15.
We will reserve more ice time if registration warrants.
Cost:
$500, Deposit of $150 can
made to reserve placement with balance due in June.
