GOALIE INSTRUCTION
The program will emphasize the Individual Skills of Goaltending. We will focus on the proper techniques to maximize potential in each skill. Our Goalie Instructors will be announced in May as many of the coaches and players around the world are still involved with their own clubs at this time.  The ALCAN Goalie program focuses on small group instruction typically 4- 6 goalies.  The ALCAN System allows the instructor to teach as a small group, and also spend time with each goalie on an individual basis.  This program is designed to focus on the following:

  • Basic Fundamentals
  • Stance & Positioning
  • Rebound Control
  • Understanding Angles
  • Skating & Mobility
  • Breakaway Theory
  • Training techniques for the off season.
  • Training techniques During the Season

THE PROGRAM
ALCAN is designed to cater to the individual skills of hockey. We are committed to creating the foundation for the complete hockey player, through the instructional teaching of specific hockey skills. At ALCAN we emphasize our self-described S.C.R.U.F.F. system.  This includes Skills, Creativity, Respect, Understanding, Foundation, & Fun. We maintain an individualized format, in order that our participants challenge themselves, not compete with the others. The main emphasis of teaching is on Skating, Shooting, Stickhandling, and Passing. With the overwhelming response to the Full Day program, we have been able to focus on the importance of Respect. We provide the atmosphere needed by all young players to establish respect for the other players on and off the ice, the instructors, and the game of hockey.

ALCAN HOCKEY ACADEMY
The ALCAN Hockey Academy is the classroom component of the camp which we provide between ice sessions. In this setting, players will participate in daily activities that will be fun and informative. Hockey Ethics, Safety and Respect will be discussed, as well as Off Ice Training Skills.

FULL DAY PROGRAM
The Full Day Program is a comprehensive camp that includes Full Time supervision by members of the ALCAN staff. The first ice session is designed to focus on the Skill of the Day. The players will then participate in a classroom style Hockey Academy session that will include fun and enriching cooperative activities which complement the day’s topic. After a break for lunch, off-ice fitness training will include techniques that pertain to fitness development, nutrition, and motivation. After a break, the players will return to the ice for the second ice session. Participants are also welcome to register for the first ice session as a half day camp, and remain at the camp for pick-up at lunch time by parents.
